Juno and Kami are a sweet pair of girls that have been through some of the worst and best times together! These girls are very bonded, and will NOT be adopted separately - we need to find a home that will adopt both of them together. Juno is the white Samoyed/Akita mix, and Kami is the black Spitz/Chow/Sammy mix. They are approx 5 years old and 40 lbs.
These two are always together, and we joke they should have been named Yin and Yang. Not only do they look incredibly cute together, their personalities really compliment each other. They are very well behaved in the home, and a joy to have around.
Kami and Juno spent almost the first year of their lives in a dog meat farm in Korea. They were rescued just in time, and taken in to a shelter in Korea. Because adoption rates are so low, especially for big dogs, Juno and Kami waited 3 years in the shelter for a home that never came. Juno was in an isolated pen a lot of her time in Korea, with food and water given and cleaning completed with out interaction. Juno loooooves people and petting and attention, but she can get goosebumps meeting new people and being touched until she is comfortable. Kami was in a larger pen with many other dogs - so while she had more socialization, you can also see old scars / white hair growth on her body from various disagreements and dog fights though the years. Even through this, Kami is very friendly and likes other dogs, though she will stand her ground to hooligans like puppies that want to play too crazy. Kami may have a little prey drive around squeaky fast things (like cats and small dogs), though we have never had an incident in rescue with her. Juno has killed a rat in our open play yards, but is great with other dogs and cats (so far). These two take a lot of comfort and confidence from their "person" (leader), and will bond very closely to you. Though they love to go on off leash hikes and have great recall, busy city trips with lots of cars and people can stress them out. They have been around children and are kind, but sometimes show worry/discomfort around quick random moving little humans, and for this reason we think it is best they go to a home with no children under 12 years old.
