Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hazel is the smartest playmate around! She just can't get enough of her good fortune. She is one positive gal. She has four great foster doggie siblings, plus foster kitties people to visit, toys to toss, and friends to teach her good manners. She has also just recently realized how much she loves water! It's all grand fun to Hazel!
Born in 2013, Hazel is just a young girl herself. She was found as a stray in rural WNY running with one of her baby puppies (Gus) who was recently adopted. Hazel and her pup were never claimed.
Hazel loves the children at her foster home so very much! She would make an excellent pet for a family or a single person. She is super happy go lucky and will cherish either lifestyle.
We love her waggy, happy, playful soul. She's so trainable and intelligent, we look forward to working with her and caring for her each day. Hazel loves to please. First time you meet her, Hazel will jump for joy and grab her best toy, circling the yard with it. That's how you know you're on her list of favorite playmates. Hazel only has one question: 'Will you be my playmate for life?'
Please consider adopting this petite Staffy mix girl. She is a lovely dog and will make a great companion. She does very well with the other dogs here.
Email us at empirerescue@gmail.com for an adoption application. Hazel will be waiting!
Please email us only regarding the adoption of our canines. We are very sorry but we simply do not have time to return everyone's phone calls as we are a very small and all volunteer group who also work full time jobs. We will return your emails however in a timely fashion.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter. Please email empirerescue@gmail.com to get an adoption application for me emailed to you. You will be so glad you did. Be sure to write HAZEL in the subject line of the email.
If you cannot adopt but you would like to help you can make a donation or sponsorship to defray the cost of our high vetting bills please mail donations to: EARS, 2 Fancher Ave, Salamanca, NY 14779. You are also able to make donations via Pay Pal to us at empirerescue@gmail.com. We are in need of help for our spay and neuter clinics and emergency angel fund as more and more animals need our help off the streets and back country roads! Any amount is greatly appreciated!!! Did you know that your donation to EARS is also tax-exempt? That's just an added bonus to helping a homeless animal in need!
Did you know that sharing saves lives? Please like us on Facebook at Empire Animal Rescue Society to keep up to date with our new rescues and events! Sharing pets via Facebook has saved thousands upon thousands of animals from being put to death in shelters! You never know when one of your friends might be in the market for a new pet! Besides, sharing only takes a few seconds!
Why Adopt? Adopting rather than shopping for your next pet will help to reduce the number of animals euthanized. Adopting a pet actually saves TWO LIVES as you free up space for another animal in need to find lasting love through the wonder of adoption. You’ll get a pet who is spayed or neutered, vaccinated and healthy. As opposed to purchasing or getting a “free to a good home” pet, you’ll welcome a fully-vetted companion animal in to your life.
Contrary to popular belief, the vast majority of shelter pets are homeless through no fault of their own. Divorce, financial constraints, time limitations and NOT the animal’s health & or behavior are the most common reasons an animal is left homeless. You’ll save money. Many pets in the shelter system are already spayed or neutered and if not, shelters often receive a discount from their participating veterinarian and passes the savings on to the adoptive family. Also, adoption fees are much less expensive than buying from a breeder or pet store.
