Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Foxy is a very special dog. We don't know where she came from, we just know she appeared out of nowhere on a cold night in October 2013. Foxy was a feral dog that was found out in the country in Vacaville, She lived on rodents and stealing barn cat food as the local neighbors attempted to befriend her in an attempt to capture her. She evaded capture until the following spring when they finally used a humane dog trap and caught her in it one morning.
Foxy has had a rough start and yet she has an affection for people she trusts. Somehow she landed out in the middle of the country because someone dumped her, or she wandered for so long that she just ended up in that neighborhood, but she definitely has had some sort of traumatic event in her young life. She has significant scarring on her lips and her tongue is damaged in several spots. She is nervous around new people, but living in a foster home has taught her that people are kind and gentle and she is now learning to take treats and seek attention from new people. She is affectionate with her foster family, but their toddler does overwhelm her at times and she tries to get away from her. She seems more nervous around men and it does take her longer to trust men. Once she trusts you she will actually grin when she sees you and is the cutest little girl.
Foxy is a terrier mix, or cattle dog mix and is around 22 pounds. She has been spayed, microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated and heartworm tested. She is looking for a very special person with a quiet home that is looking to teach a dog love and get a loving and wonderful dog in exchange. Foxy is not a dog for everyone, but there is a wonderful dog inside this extremely caring little damaged body. Are you the one to help her gain confidence and learn that being in a home with a loving human is a wonderful thing? Please consider Foxy as your companion. Her adoption fee is $200 plus a $17.99 microchip registration fee.
