Hi Y'all,
I just wanted to update everyone on my escapades of being a puppy. Life is great! I have been helping with keeping my foster siblings busy by playing chase and rolling around in the grass.
I am working on my hand signals. It's fun to keep an eye on my foster mom or dad because if I do - I get treats! How great is that? I still need some work on keeping still before I get my food, but I am getting better everyday. Every few days, my foster dad will take me and another sibling for a walk at the forest preserves and I do so well - at least that's what my foster dad says.
I haven't skipped a beat watching those ducks hang out around the barn. I get to go back there every so often to move the ducks around while chores are done.
Well, that's all for now.........While I love my foster home, I sure would like my forever home soon.

Hi,
It’s Iris again and I’m checking in. It’s been a couple of weeks since my last write up and I wanted to let everyone know how I have been doing. I have been having a great time just being a puppy. There’s lots to do here and my foster mom and dad say I have something called “herding instinct’ because I like to closely watch and follow the ducks and the sheep that they have.
I’m learning more signs and know sit, shake, down and watch me. My foster p’s say I’m also very good on a leash and very good on car rides as well. I have to say I love going on walks. I also like being in my crate when it’s time to do that and settle down right away with my kong..
I love playing with my foster brothers and sisters. One of them is smaller than me and one is bigger but we all have a lot of fun chasing each other around and playing. I also found out that I like water and like to go in the kiddie pool when I get warm and need to cool off. I like to splash around and get wet and then run around and play some more.
I also LOVE people and get very excited and happy to meet someone new. My foster p’s say I don’t have a shy bone in my body. I still like to cuddle though, and when I get tired and take a nap I like to lay with my head on somebody’s lap.
My foster p’s joke that wherever my forever home is and when I go there my new family, at least they won’t have to worry about me being afraid of fireworks, thunderstorms or loud noises!
I have to get going again now. I can't sit still........there’s a lot to do and I don’t want to miss out on the fun. See ya later!

Did you notice anything? Maybe you did and maybe you didn't but I am deaf. As you can see it doesn't stop me from having fun and learning. I am picking up signals at a fast pace.....I know "sit" and "down" and learning "Watch me." I don't let my hearing impairment stop me from enjoying life. I love walking on leash and am very quiet in the car.
Since my eyes are so small, I am going to the Ophthalmologist in a couple of weeks to have my sight check. My foster P's think I can see just fine, because I like to watch the ducks walking around the barn. But we are going to check to make sure. I'll keep you updated!
I get along really well with all 8 of my foster siblings and I even like the cat! I must say cuddling is one of my favorite things to do. The perfect forever home for me is with someone who is willing to work with me and have patience in training me.
Well, I have to be going.......there's a lot of running around and playing to do. I'll check in everyone in about a week and update you on my life.
Bye!
Iris
