Here's what the humans have to say about me:
1. What is your name?
My Name is Izzy! I came with that name from my previous owners.
2. How old are you?
I am about 2 and a ½ years old in people years! Although you wouldn’t know it by looking at me! I am a small girl and most people mistake me for a puppy.
3. What do you look like?
I am the most adorable combination of black and brown! My coat looks all black from a distance, but when you get up close you can see the brown streaks running through it! My coat is shiny like a seal! I have big brown puppy eyes and one floppy ear that never seems to stay in the same place twice.
4. What do you like to eat?
My foster parents have been feeding me healthy all natural food! I love to eat and I sit like a good girl and patiently wait while my foster mom and dad make my food! I even wait until they tell me it is ok to eat after then put my bowl in front of me.
5. What kind of personality do you have?
I am an extremely friendly, well-behaved pit bull. I have a lot of energy and just want to play with my human and dog friends all day! I am good at fetch, walking on a leash, and snuggling on the couch after a long day. Some say I want to be the center of attention as I have a ton of love to give! I have a lot of energy and enjoy any interaction with humans and other dogs.
6. Describe your perfect day
I love hanging with my foster parents! I want to be doing whatever they want to do. Whether it is working in the yard, going for a walk, or settling in at night to watch a movie, I am happy as long as my human and dog friends are there! I am very easy going and just want to show you how much pit bull love I can give you!
7. What is your favorite toy?
My foster brother destroys every type of toy he gets! So I have not had too much exposure to toys as my foster parents only buy us a certain type so he doesn’t destroy everything. So far, I really like hard toys that I can chew on! I have this heavy duty rubber ball that makes a jingle noise when my foster parents or brother roll it. I love to chase it and kick it under the couch.
8. Do you know any tricks?
I am great at a few tricks. I sit, lie down, shake, roll over, crawl and stand on my hind legs all on demand. I do like a treat to help motivate me and I love showing off my tricks to strangers!
9. What scares you?
There are not many things that scare me at all. At first, when I meet strangers, I can be a little scared of them. I run away from them and hide while quietly barking! After a few minutes, I warm up to them. I am not scared of vacuum cleaners, thunder, strollers, or any other unusual objects or sounds. I just sometimes need a minute or two to get used to them.
10. Do you like cats?
I don’t have any cat friends currently living in my foster home.
11. Do you have any doggie best friends?
My foster brother is my current best friend. Although he is a little boring and likes to sleep all day! But we play, share toys, and get along great!
12. If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I am really easy to make happy. I just want be with a loving family who takes great care of me and gives me a lot of attention. I want to be your best friend and follow you everywhere!
13. How is your health?
According to my veterinarian, I am in excellent health. I don’t take any medicine, get good exercise, and eat healthy.
14. How long have you lived in your foster home?
It’s been 2 months since I was brought back to even chance.
15. Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion?
I have two foster parents and 1 foster brother who is also a pit bull. They are a pretty laid back and relaxed family. I love to show them how much they mean to me. I also do this really cute thing where I lay on my back and have them rub my tummy!
16. Where do you hang out when you are home alone?
When I am home without my foster parents, I stay in a crate in the same room as my foster brother. I don’t have any separation anxiety but I like being able to see my brother and make sure someone is there to hang out with me.
17. Where do you sleep?
I also sleep in my crate. Every now and then my foster parents let me sneak up into bed and sleep with them however, but that is a rare occasion. I sleep fine through the night but am eager to get up in the morning.
18. What do you love about your foster family?
I love that my foster family is so relaxed and willing to hang out with me. I love that they are home bodies but will also take me places with them, like the park, festivals, and even to Ted Drewes to enjoy a summer treat.
If you would like more information on Izzy or would like to set up a meet and greet, please fill out an adoption application here: http://evenchance.org/adopt/how-to-adopt/, and we will contact you.
Even Chance does not operate on a first come, first serve basis. In most cases we have already decided the type of home and owner we want for our dogs. These opinions are based on the temperament tests we perform prior to accepting the dog into our program and the behaviors the dogs display as they spend time in our homes. Our agency reserves the right to deny acceptance of any dog to an owner who we feel the lifestyle does not match that of the dog. We are in no way judging you or your lifestyle; we simply want to put our dogs in the best living situation possible. We take very seriously the decision we make when it comes to placing one of our dogs in a forever home. If I sound like the perfect pit bull for your and your family and you are interested in giving me a forever home, do not hesitate! Please fill out an application here and my foster family will contact you to schedule an in-person meet and greet. We look forward to meeting any and all interested applicants.
