Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If you're looking for the perfect family dog, Mindy's your girl!
Mindy is a beautiful 25 lb Cocker Spaniel mix. She is honey brown with brown eyes and a black nose, and nice healthy pearly-white teeth. Her hair is wavy and very very soft. She is estimated to be 1-1/2 years old, recently spayed and is up to date on her shots.
Mindy was rescued from a high-kill shelter and was somewhat traumatized, but has quickly recovered. She is currently doing great, very active and playful and anxious to be placed in her new forever home.
Mindy is still puppy-like with playful actions and would do well with a same size or larger dog companion; she behaves submissively to other dogs. She plays awkwardly due to her youth and would be too rough for a small sized dog companion.
Mindy loves to follow me around the yard while I work and tends to stay close except when there is an intruder at the fence line. She is one of those dogs that just loves being outdoors but still wants to be indoors with her human. She barks protectively to oncoming strangers, both dog and people, but calms down immediately when her master shows her that they are friendly. We're still working on "in the house behavior" (which at my house means quiet time and no running, barking, or jumping up).
I can't guarantee that she is potty trained, but she has used a doggie door successfully, and so far she has not gone in the house or in her crate. I use a disposable diaper on her when in the house and she has not soiled it, which is a good indication that she will do well.
Mindy is smart and anxious to please. She needs a human who will teach her manners and be patient and gentle with her until she learns. After she is trained I have no doubt that she will be the best little girl in town.
Mindy is waiting for you to complete the rescue process by adopting her. She bonds quickly and won’t disappoint you with all her wonderful kisses that she shares so generously. Please call Linda at (530) 226-0733 between the hours of 9am-8pm to find out more about Mindy.
