Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi.........my name is Peaches! I love everyone, but am cautious at first.......... I am fine with small dogs and cats. I love getting the attention that I have never known before and if you want a lap puppy, here I am! My mom says that I am even sweeter than I look! I was picked up through Craig's list, then returned when the owners asked for me back. A week later they decided that they didn't want me anymore, so was given back to the hoarder who got me through Craig's list. When she found out I was spayed, a rescuer was contacted, and now I am in a safe, loving environment. I was crated 24/7 and not let out to potty. I had dry feces all over me, as well as sores and lots of fleas. But now I've been bathed, groomed, and enjoyed fresh water and good food for the last few days. Life is good!! I am white with pale apricot on ears and 3 spots on my back. I have gorgeous teeth and nice breath!
*DOB 8-10-13, 9 pounds, appears to be Maltese/ShihTzu mix.
Adoption fee $395 which includes spay and current vaccinations.
LOOKING FOR A Dog?
We do not adopt to families with children under 5 years of age.
This rule is for the safety of the child and the wellbeing of the pet.......
Toddlers are curious and pups never exceed the mentality of a 2 year old, so they do not consider consequences for their actions.
They only react to situations........ thus children get scratched, bitten, etc...........it isn't a vicious act, only a reaction to the situation.
Usually either the pup or the toddler are innocently harmed and the pups usually pays the price.
We do not adopt to adults under 25 years of age.
Think about your ability to care for a pet………….
Consider how many hours will you physically be with your pet,
Any physical limitations that you have, and your age now compared to the life expectancy of a dog.
Example:
I am 65 years old. I would like to believe that 15-20 years from now I will be active, healthy, and
able to care for a pet………….but that isn’t realistic. I would be selfish to allow my special pet to end his/her life without me.
It would be more appropriate to adopt a pet 8-10 years old, or fostering pets so that they
will get a chance to find a great family who can provide what they need. We see too many pets who lose
their families and are left in the hands of people who do not love them as we do……..they end up at the pound,
or vet’s office to be euthanized………………..
You MUST have, an adequate sized physical fence, enclosed fenced area outside one of your doors
If you have deed restrictions, they usually permit a specific type of fencing and/or a
small fenced area other than fencing the complete yard.
WHY DO WE REQUIRE A FENCE?
A physical fence helps protect our pets from harm from people and other animals.
Vets tell us that a home with a fenced yard allows their dog to go out more often,
avoiding continued Urinary tract infections, which are painful and dangerous.
We want your family safe!
We do not recommend invisible fence because:
There are too many dogs in the pound with electronic collar
Children have been bitten while playing with a dog which was shocked.
Dogs have been stolen, injured or killed while within an invisible fence.
Dogs must wear a pronged collar.
Most trainers do not recommend invisible fence because it is negative training
Dogs have been affected negatively by malfunctioning training collars,
causing long term stress issues
