Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bryan Bickell of the Chicago Blackhawks and his wife Amanda are dedicated to helping Pit Bull type dogs find forever homes. As part of their Bick's Pit program, a Pit Bull is featured through the organization so they can one day find their forever home. Please see the dog's information below and be sure to check out Bick's other pits!
We would like you to meet Powers. This young playful boy was a local stray that needed someone to rescue him. So, Almost Home Foundation took Powers in as he stole the volunteer's heart. Since Powers is young, he has a lot of energy. He has attended doggie daycare and training. It will be important for Powers new family to keep up with his training. This will be a good way for Powers to learn that you are his leader and he can be a part of your new pack. Powers is a dog who wants to please, so he tries everything that is asked of him. His youth, inexperience, and strength make for some rough play with other dogs, so supervision during doggie playtime is important. Powers does better with bigger dogs as they usually will let him know if it is becoming too much. Small children are probably not best due to Powers energy level and youth.
If you are looking for a running buddy, a walking partner, or an exercise buddy of almost any kind, Powers is your boy. He will be able to keep up with you. Then a good meal, a quick potty break and off to a nap he will go. I am sure he would love a snuggle buddy too, if you will let him, or a nice dog bed on the side of your bed will do.
Since Powers has been through training, his new family will receive a home training session, so the trainer can show you all the good things Powers has learned and can do. If interested in Powers, please contact us at dogs@almosthomefoundation.org or call 847-891-1599.
