Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Tulip! Isn’t she gorgeous? With her blue merle coat, one brown and one blue eye, she is just stunning. Tulip has had a new start in life just like a new bloom in the spring. Tulip was a surrendered from a breeder in Missouri. The Humane Society of Missouri took in 41 incredible Australian Shepherds and contacted us for help. When we took these babies into our rescue, most were malnourished and hadn’t see a brush in a long time. Some of them did not know how to walk on a leash and would not walk on the tile floors but Tulip walked out on her own and has never looked back!
Tulip is an average size girl at 40 pounds and has a calm, gentle disposition. With lots of smiles (have you ever seen an Aussie smile ?) she will snuggle in with you and enjoy your company. Tulip still needs just a little extra time to get to know you before she is your best friend, I kind of wish people were more like that, don’t you?
She is good with other dogs and children and likes to walk by you on her leash or take a short jog! Tulip has terrific manners and is most comfortable at meal time when she is fed in her kennel. Tulip still needs to experience things in the world she never had the chance to experience before. She will continue to need slow introduction to the world as to not overwhelm her.
Tulip is spayed, fully vaccinated and microchiped . She is currently taking heartworm preventative and is on Frontline to prevent fleas and ticks. Tulip is good with other dogs and children, we do not know how she is with cats. She is average size, low energy and 5 years young. Are you the right person or family to help her discover the world? Tulip is located in central Illinois and is waiting to meet you. Please fill out an adoption application at www.aussierescuemidwest.org
