Bernie was turned into the shelter at the ripe age of 10 by someone who clearly didn't care about him. Do you have a lap for him to use? Yup, he loves doing that. In fact, there isn't much he doesn't love. The shelter removed his rotten teeth and cleaned what was left – yep, just two of them. Bernie doesn’t care about that, though. He is eating canned puppy food to gain a little winter weight in summer and enjoying all the pampering in his foster home. He is almost 4 pounds! He loves other small dogs and enjoys sleeping in a warm bed. Will it be yours? While Bernie is fine around everyone he meets, it is best he isn’t adopted into a home with young children because of his petite size. He is eligible for our Seniors-for-Seniors program. What’s that, you ask? It’s our way of encouraging seniors to adopt senior dogs for a reduced adoption fee of $50. This helps makes dogs affordable for compassionate and loving seniors and saves money they can use for food and vet expenses down the road. Bernie is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, and had a blood panel that shows he’s in good health. He's in great shape for a little old guy. And just as cute as can be we might add!
