Dakota and Max lost their home and their family but MHCSR promised them they would never loose each other. They have been together their entire lives and are a bonded pair so we will only be adopting them together.
Max is a very handsome 7-year-old neutered male, mahogany/sable. Both have been raised with children and do very well with them. Because Max is large, he could easily knock over a small child in play. We will therefore require that children in the adoptive home be over the age of 7. Max has been described by his foster-mom as a bit of a goof who is like a big fluffy teddy bear that loves to be cuddled and will pretty much roll with the punches.
Dakota is a 7-year-old spayed female with a very sweet personality. She had to be shaved because she had so many mats from years of not being groomed properly. But her coat is growing out and she will be a beautiful sable merle who will be turning heads everywhere. Dakota has one prominent blue eye and a light blue tint in the other. She can be a bit bossy but will nudge you with that collie nose wanting as much attention as you can give her. She loves to be kissed and told what a beautiful girl she is.
Max and Dakota never had any toys in their previous home but have discovered the toy box and are very interested in them for short periods of time. They both respond to come, sit and know to shake hands and love to go for walks. Being walked on leash is new to them so they still need more work on how to walk properly on lead.
Both dogs play and enjoy the company of other dogs. They will thrive on good food and lots of attention from their human family. They enjoy car rides and are housetrained. Max and Dakota are incredibly sweet with a capital “S”!
Vaccinations have been updated and they are spayed and neutered and on HW preventative. Both of them received a complete dental, micro-chipped and ready for their forever home.
If you are considering Max and Dakota to complete your family, please visit our website (www.mhcsr.org) and click on our Adoption Requirement Tab. An explanation of our adoption requirements, adoption fees, along with the process of adoption will answer any questions you might have. From there you can click on the Adoption Application, please be as descriptive as possible when filling this out, after that we will be back in touch with you.
