My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Stella is an 8mnth old Great Dane that is the result of a puppy mill. Stella has had a really rough start to her short life. She has suffered with giardia, parasites, pneumonia, clostridium, HOD, emaciation and demodex. This beautiful girl has just been diagnosed with mild hip dysplasia in her left hip. She will need ongoing supplements, medications, and x-rays. Right now, she isn't ready for surgical intervention but that could be in her future. We won't know until she grows more and gets older.

Stella's fear of people is very difficult to watch. We wonder what was done or what wasn't done to her to make her so fearful. Stella is also in obedience class with her foster parents to help with some of her fear and social issues. She is not ready for adoption at this time. Can you help Stella by giving a donation?

Update 3/08
Stella has been going to obdiance classes every week. She has made AMAZING improvement in her social skills and her fear of men. She will now approach even a male stranger. Stella also attended our recent meet and greet and everyone was so impressed with how sweet she was and easy going. She was very calm, and not nervous at all. She welcomed people with treats and was very curios with all of the dogs. Stella is an absolutley sweetheart. A snuggle bug, great on a leash, crate trained, and getting healthier every day. She is recovering from a broken toe but that doesn't stop her. We are still having some issues with housebreaking and trying to teach her how to signal when she needs to go out. We are also still trying to work on a diet that will best work for her. Her belly is very sensitive. On another positive note, she is demodex free!
