Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Merlin is a wonderful young dog. He is very calm in the house and loves to chew on bones. He will play a little with toys, but if left with them will chew on them too. Merlin is respectful of things that are not his and does not pick up inappropriate items. (With the exception of paper if it happens to fall on the floor.) He has shown no interest in being a counter surfer.
He likes other dogs and would do best in a home that has a dog that he can gain confidence off of. He does like to play but after 5-10 minutes he is ready to chill out. Merlin is a little shy and came to me under-socialized. There is a walking trail that runs behind my property and the first two weeks he was with me he would run onto the deck or in the house if anyone said "hi" as they walked by. Now he happily goes to the fence when someone comes over to talk and enjoys greeting those that come up.
Merlin has been with me just under a month and in my house he is confident and well adjusted. He is not scared of fireworks, lawn movers, vacuum, etc. The first couple of walks we went on he was cautious, he walked with me but his ears were back, and his tail was tucked. Now he enjoys his walks, goes to the fence and is happy to get out, his ears and tails are up in a relaxed comfortable position.
I have taken Merlin to Agility and Flyball practice and over to a friend's. He is not, at this time, comfortable going place. He will become reserved and if given the chance will bolt back to the van. When taken to a friend's house to see how he does he was uncomfortable on leash in the front yard, but once in the backyard he quickly relaxed and played with the other dogs and went up to people for petting. He does travel well in the van. Merlin is super sweet and loves attention. Merlin is overweight and working on his diet, but as he is not very active it is a slow process.
