Here's what the humans have to say about me:
UPDATE: Amy has begun treatment and is doing very well in foster. She has the prettiest brown eyes, the teeniest ears, and the cutest cheeks to compliment her amazing personality. Amy is a silly, happy girl who loves everyone, including the two year old in the house -- always rolling over to have her belly rubbed. She's completely potty trained, walks well on the leash, and knows basic obedience (sit, down, leave it, no, stay). Amy is very intelligent, and listens well even to a couple hand signals she's picked up when practicing her obedience! Because of her heartworms she has to be crated often, but she goes willingly in her crate, relaxing or chewing on her toys when she has her foster family nearby. Her favorite activities are getting her tummy rubbed, walking outside, and sleeping in bed with her toy and foster mom. She's great with other dogs, needs a home without cats as she likes to chase them. Amy deserves a loving, permanent home that can give her the love and the life she deserves.
Check out Amy's videos on youtube! She is available for foster-to-adoption.
Last week we saw the urgent messages about Nash County AC being FULL! We offered to take Amy, a beautiful black and brown lab chow mix. She was sent to the vet for boarding for a few days before being transported to us and to get all of her vaccines, etc. unfortunately she tested heartworm positive and according to her blood work she also has microfilaria in her blood.
We have an appt scheduled for early next week to get her into the vet and started on her heartworm treatment. We are looking at approx. $680 for everything! Treatment, X-rays, blood work, medications, etc
Amy is only 2 years old, she is very sweet and so gentle. Please help us help her so that she can live a long full life!!
