Hi, I’m Scooter!
I’m looking for a new home because as much as my owner loved me, he didn’t have the financial ability to properly care for me. He reached out for help and SGAR took me in, cleaned me up and is helping me get healthy. I tested positive for heartworms and just finished treatment. I also had a lot of fleas. So much so that I lost some of my pretty fur due to all of the scratching. But the fleas are gone and my fur is back and boy is it pretty!
As of June 2014 I am about three years old and thought to be a dachshund and rat terrier mix. I get along with dogs, cats, and kids…well, just about anyone! I love to be with you and will follow you around wherever you go. I love to sit right next to you, in your lap and be held like a baby. And don’t forget about those belly rubs! I walk well on a leash and although I’m crate trained, I prefer to have the door to the crate open so I can come and go as I please. I am housetrained and will tell you when I need to go outside to go potty.
