Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bentley is an approximately 10-month-old male mix weighing 53 pounds. We’ve been given guesses to what breed he may be but honestly, your guess is probably as good as ours. While he is still early in his life, Bentley has never had the opportunity to call a house his home. He was born in Pendleton, OR before being transferred to Oregon Humane to be adopted out. Unfortunately, Bentley struggled in a shelter setting and found himself alone and suffering from kennel stress. It was then that a wonderful woman reached out to O.S.C.A.R. pleading for someone to take a chance on him. It didn’t take but a couple moments for Bentley to bat his eyelashes and walk out of there in the care of one of the rescue’s co-founders.
Since leaving the shelter on May 31, Bentley has repeatedly exhibited an outstanding temperament. He has spent time with big dogs, little dogs, grumpy dogs, and jumpy dogs. While he wouldn’t deny the opportunity to play with a cat, he never displays any interest in harming them and coexisted with one without issue for a couple of days. He has spent time with dog savvy children and thought they were great, although until his manners are improved, this time must be well supervised. There have been no issues surrounding food, toys or attention and he even takes a treat with a gentle mouth. He is potty trained and sleeps through the night in his crate.
At this moment, Bentley’s greatest need is to refine his manners; a gentle reminder not to jump, some time spent mastering his leash skills, and the patience to allow him to work through being the most excited dog you’ve ever seen when he sees the person he loves. He already knows sit, lie down, wait, no, and is giving in to the meaning of off. With a little more time and consistent expectations, Bentley will be the most loyal, loving companion you could ask for. He is very food motivated, which can be beneficial in training.
Bentley’s likes include food, balls, stuffed toys, ropes, cuddles, car rides, walks/runs, kisses, wrestling, tug ‘o war, and meeting new friends (plus many, many more).
Bentley’s dislikes: being away from his foster mom and water.
Current location: Ellensburg, WA adoption fee $350
Bentley is neutered, micro chipped, and up to date on vaccinations
