Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
All HSWA dogs are in foster homes and need an appointment to be seen. Please call 205-554-0011 or email humaneswa@yahoo.com to request an appointment to see the dog/puppy and to check availability. Before choosing a pet, we recommend meeting the pet or asking questions first.
Chubby Grayson wants to plant himself in your lap. . .after a little exercise!!
This roly poly is Grayson, a four-year-old male Cocker Spaniel/Terrier mix. He has a smooth golden brown coat and the muzzle and eyes of a Spaniel, but with shorter legs and coat of a Terrier. And yes, this chunky monkey needs to lose weight! Grayson weighs 30 pounds, but he should be only about 20 pounds! We have him on a diet and are getting him out and about to exercise. Grayson was pulled from our city animal shelter, where he had been picked up as a stray by Animal Control. His microchip revealed he had been previously adopted out by the shelter, but calls and letter to the chip information did not get returned, and the shelter realized they weren't exactly looking for him. Poor chubby guy! Well, we aim to find him a REAL home!
Grayson is just a wonderful dog -- very sweet-natured, social and lovable. He does do a little tinkle when excited or nervous (such a Cocker thing!), but that should stop once he is comfortable. Grayson does have some energy and, once he gets some weight off, he will probably have a bit more; so he will need some daily exercise, especially if in an apartment. He will require a fenced yard if left outside unattended at any point. Grayson seems to be good with other dogs and should be fine with children ages six and up. We have started on his crate training. Grayson is up to date on his vet care, neutered, heartworm negative and is microchipped. He is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Such a nice dog! Grayson is ready to start again with a loving family that will want him forever!
Our adoption fee is $75. Read more information on our adoption process. Then, if you feel your home might be the right forever home and you would like to adopt a dog, submit an adoption application or email us at humaneswa@yahoo.com for more info.
