My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

HALO VIDEO - MY FAVORITE TOY !!!

Halo was born 12/5/2011.  She is a beautiful Tortoiseshell with Amber eyes.

Halo was found giving birth in the rain on top of a wooden crate.  A wonderful man rescued her and the 5 babies bringing them inside, giving them blankets, food and water.  He then called animal control only to be horrified when they told him 'yes, bring them in, we can euthanize them.'  He replied with 'Oh yes, let's do that.  The babies are only 4 hours old.'

Halo who was a dumped pregnant cat has only 4 babies left as one died shortly after birth.  She has been an absolutely wonderful mother, but sadly mothers rarely get adopted as everyone wants a kitten.

Halo is not a lap cat but if she had a home where there was a lot of love and patience, I am sure she would eventually let you touch her.  Halo is not aggressive.  She is just scared because people in her past haven't been exactly very nice to her.

Please help us find a great home for Halo.  She has truly been an Angel with all that she has had to endure so early in life!  Halo plays well with other kitties but would be a PERFECT 'only cat'.

Additional adoption info

Adoption Fees start at $100.00 and depend on the pet. Some have had extensive surgeries and rehabilitation. We have an application/Contract process. We do an In Home visit, especially with hard to place pets. We will need a vet and 2 other references. We can arrange a private appointment with the foster if desired.

Paws does the majority of adoptions through Applications submitted on our Website at www.pawsrescue.org .
We have an application process which is designed to find the best home for a particular pet. Paws assists with humane education and low cost spay and neuter information. We do not have a shelter. All our adoptable pets are placed in individual foster homes until adopted sometimes taking months. None of our adoptable pets are euthanized to make space.

More about this rescue

Paws Animal Rescue, Inc. is an ALL VOLUNTEER Non Profit, 501-C-3 Organization that began in May 1999 in Alvin, Texas. All funds received (donations and adoption fees) are used directly to the benefit of the animals. There are NO paid employees at Paws Animal Rescue. Paws is a TARPA (Texas Acceptance and Release Program) Certified Organization. Please remember “UNTIL THERE ARE NONE, ADOPT ONE”.

Paws saw the need to rescue adoptable cats and dogs at animal control facilities where the holding days can be as little as 3 to 5 days. Paws never adopts a pet until it has been completely vetted and most importantly spayed and neutered. We network with all shelters with lists of available cats and dogs. If we do not have what they are looking for we find someone who does.
