My story

Hi, my name is Bijou and I am a handsome Lab/Pit mix, approximately 5 years old, with a lot of love to give! I'm a medium/large boy about 65 pounds, but really one size fits all, because I love everyone that I meet. I love all the attention I get from the volunteers that come out to walk and play with me every day. I live at a boarding facility because my rescue does not have enough foster homes. I love to go to the grassy play yard to run and sniff! I can chase balls, and throw around rope toys, and get tons of pets and belly rubs, which I adore.

My Favorite things;
I love, love being next to and near the person who is my friend and snuggling close for those much loved kisses and sweet words of love. I can just see myself cuddling with my person on a cozy couch :) I am very loyal and remember all my friends and form a strong bond with them.

I very much look forward to my daily walks.... so much fun! I mostly walk like a dream on the leash but sometimes get excited when I see another dog and have to be reminded to walk nicely.

I lived with a trainer for 4 months to learn good manners. I now know how to sit, stay, place and down. It didn't take me long to learn these as I am a VERY smart boy and just want to please.
I am also a bit stubborn and I would be happiest with a strong pack leader for a parent who can give me good direction...I listen very well when told what I’m supposed to do.

I am polite, calm and a friend to all. I love meeting new people, going on adventures like car rides, hamburger outings the park and beach.

I’m not a big fan of dogs I don’t know but I’m good about hanging with other big dogs when I am introduced properly.
I don’t like cats or little dogs but have shared a foster home with other calm dogs that I like.
