My name is Champion, and I'm one handsome Rottie! My adoption fee is $200, and my friends with Hanover Humane are firm about placing me in a home in the Richmond, Virginia metro area (counties bordering on Hanover Humane's facility in Hanover County, Virginia.)

I'm a large and boisterous guy, and, as you can see from my picture, I am very handsome. I had a happy life at one time, but now I'm sad and confused and trying to figure out the new world in which I have to live. When my friends with Hanover Humane got me, it was obvious that I spoke no English so they have been working with me, and I'm making progress. I'm very sad because my owner is gone, my family is gone, and I'm trying to adjust to a new living situation. I guess you can say that I'm a special needs dog because I'm going to be a project for someone and my new owner will definitely need to be patient with me.

I'm making progress, but everything is new for me. I don't care for other dogs so I will need to go to a home where I can be an only dog. I will need to go to a home with just adults. Because I am large and very energetic, I will need a home (not an apartment) with a fenced-in backyard.

I am very handsome and I know a lot of people will be interested in me. Hanover Humane is committed to finding a home for me where I can be with someone who has owned Rotties before and is not afraid to be firm with me. I am very smart, but I will need additional obedience training.

I have been neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. I have been tested for heartworms and am on monthly heartworm preventative. My new owner will receive a month of free pet insurance at the time of my adoption.
