My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Franklin is friendly but shy. He likes to be involved in whatever is happening in the home. Once he is comfortable he is very social and is a “rubber” for attention. He likes to be near you and sometimes he’ll take a nap with a family member. He almost never talks or meows. He’s one of the quietest cats his adopters have ever met.
Franklin was diagnosed with Mast Cell disease in 2022 and continues to do well with treatment. His previous adopters are not able to keep him due to his medication affecting a member of thier household. They love him and are offering to pay for his ongoing care.

Do you have a place in your heart and home for Sweet Franklin?

Additional adoption info

Once you've filled out an application, we will contact your references and put you in touch with the foster/caregiver of the cat. Once your application is approved, we schedule you to attend a Zoom group seminar on cat care. We invite both novice and experienced alike to attend. Then you would sign the adoption agreement, pay the adoption fee, and make arrangements for the cat to be moved to your home. We always do a home visit which is both reassuring to the cat when it is being introduced and to the foster who has taken care of the cat. Presently we are doing home visits with FaceTime or Zoom to confirm you have secure windows, no toxic plants and a generally safe environment for a cat. The adoption fee is $150 for one cat under 7 years old, $75 for one cat 7 years and older.

All cats have been tested for the Feline Leukemia and FIV virus, vaccinated (FVRCP and Rabies vaccines), microchipped, dewormed and spayed/neutered. If you adopt kittens that are too young to be altered, we will arrange the spay/neuter/microchip at a later date at a partner vet.

More about this rescue

Anjellicle Cats Rescue is an all-volunteer registered 501c3 cat rescue committed to helping make New York a no-kill city. As one of the most active cat rescues in the 5 boroughs, ACR is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and adopting out homeless cats and kittens, many of which are sick, injured or dismissed as unadoptable. Through a coalition of volunteer advocates and caregivers, each rescued cat is welcomed with kindness and medical care into a foster home with the goal of adoption into a permanent, loving home.
