RIGGINS - Retriever mix, male, 1-2 years. Riggins is a very special boy looking for an extra special home. He is great at home during a work day but his favorite time is when his family is home with him. Riggins loves the back yard and likes to chase birds but they always seem to get away! He is good with most dogs but dogs who are too bold make him nervous. Riggins has situational anxiety, causing him to be startled easily in new situations and react fearfully, so he would do best with owners who are patient, calm and willing to let him blossom at his own pace, and will need a home with low traffic and no young children. In addition, Riggins has an esophageal stricture which can cause him to regurgitate and choke on his food. He is under the care of two specialists, one for his anxiety and one for his medical condition, in order to provide him with the best possible care. Riggins is a lovely boy who will make someone a steadfast companion. His foster home adores him and we are all dedicated to ensuring that his new family has all the support that they need to make him feel at home.
