Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Laddie is a Take Me Home courtesy post. Laddie is not affiliated with Take Me Home. She is not under our care. Take Me Home is not responsible for any adoptions through private parties. For more information on Laddie or to meet this gorgeous golden girl contact julia@adogsliferescue.org.
Though Laddie might look bigger in pictures, this girl is a nice medium size lab mix - under 40 pounds! Perfect for people who want the personality of a large dog, without all the size. She's the perfect package! Though a little shy at first, she's incredibly affectionate and loves people once she settles in a bit. She has been nervous at first with other dogs but also very respectful and definitely the submissive. So we feel she could be fine in a home as an only dog, but could also benefit from having another mellow dog to keep her company.
She loves to be with people and is happy to relax around the house with you -- after giving you plenty of kisses of course. She sleeps very well on the floor in her own bed and waits for you to tell her what you need from her.
When Laddie was first found cold and alone hiding in some bushes outside of an apartment building she was terrified to even have a collar or harness on. Clearly she had never really experienced the world before. Because of this she does have some special needs when she first goes into a home. The main issue is that she is fearful outside and so she needs someone who will be patient on walks and also give her the leadership to make sure she knows she is safe. There's no doubt that if someone can put in this initial effort Laddie will be an amazing companion.
