Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I am a 9-month old, 10-pound Chihuahua dachshund mix. While I can sometimes be nervous before I get to know you, I am totally endearing. I am playful, affectionate, and fun-loving. I love to chase my ball, race around the house, play with my foster doggy brother – I quite wear him out!, go for walks, and snuggle up with my humans. When I race around the back yard, my mom wonders if I will lift off, given my hang glider ears. I just love life. I like to try new things out. Once I jumped in the shower – I wanted to see what it felt like and I quite liked it. (And it was quite satisfying to roll around in the bed linens afterward to dry off.)
I am mostly, but not all the way grown up, so my new home will need to help me make it the rest of the way. I will say that in the few weeks I have been in foster care, I have learned A TON and have responded well to treats and being gently corrected. I barely have any accidents indoors any more; my foster mom tells me I am doing great. I am good about being in my crate during the day when my humans are at work and at night, although I would much prefer to snuggle with you in bed; this is an activity that I excel at. I am great in a car and just sit quietly.
I am currently enrolled in a basic training course where I can learn a lot with other small dogs. So far, I am a champion "sitter." If I get adopted before my class is over, my new humans can take
I am currently being fostered in Somerville, MA. Both because I am little and also because I am still learning to be more disciplined, I should not be in a home with very young children but would do very well in a household with older school-age children. The more people to play with me, the better, as far as I am concerned.
