Hey Everybody! My name is Hailey and I am super stoked to be writing this. Foster Mom said these are keys big enough for my toes to use. I just have to say, I. . Love. . . Life! I am very happy go lucky and just get a kick out of about everything I have seen so far. There are so many fun things to see and do, people to run up to play with, and lots of dogs to wrestle. Foster Mom says though that I am not allowed to try and eat the flowers once I am done smelling them. Bummer.
I have been learning lots of things since coming to stay here. Words I understand are: my name of course, come, leave it, sit, no, and off. I'm working on down, stay, and drop it. Those aren't any fun at all. Drop it means I have to let my ball go and that is not any fun. I do love when it gets thrown again though, maybe there is something good to this "drop it" word. I love to play with my dog friends, I have lots of them and we wrestle a lot. I really like to chase my friend Kiley though when she is playing fetch with foster mom. I don't even want the ball for myself, it's too much fun to run with her. I like to run and "hide" under this thing called a slide when waiting for Kiley to run after her ball. Foster Mom says I look really silly since she can still see me and all.
I must admit that I do have a bad habit.....I like to try and chase after moving things. Stuff like cars and bicycles, boy they just get me all excited. Sometimes I don't want to listen when I see one coming but, I'm not allowed to go after them. I have learned that I am to stand by my Foster Mom and only watch them go by. It's really no cool at all but, I get real happy when I make Foster Mom so proud of me. I am really super good at it when on a leash and am working on listening better when out in the fenced part of the yard. It's close to the one road though so, that can make it hard to be good all the time. Whoa! Kiley's got the Kong, time to go play! I can't wait to meet you, talk to you soon!

Little Miss Hailey has been in foster care for only a few days now and has already won the hearts of her foster Mom, the two children of the house, and a neighbor too. She is approximately 7 months old and is full of puppy love and energy. She is friendly with other dogs and loves play wrestling. Hailey is mostly house trained already and we are just "fine tuning" her in that regard. She is a crate trained and quite while crated, Hailey will even go lay down in it on her own for a break or nap time once in a while. Hailey walks well on leash but, like most young dogs, needs a little work in staying next to her walking partner when excited. Our only big issue at this time is that Hailey is reactive to moving vehicles and would chase if allowed. She is fairly easy to redirect though so, we are working on that impulse daily as well. (With a slight roll of her little mischievous eyes, Hailey seems to be saying, "Duh, I'm a Border Collie - we want to round things up." ) Hailey is very attentive to you and is eager to please. The children that Hailey is living with are 4 yrs old and 2 1/yrs old and she is very good with them and loves to follow them around whether in the house or outside.
Although full of puppy energy, this little girl has that all elusive "off" switch that we all love to hear about. She will settle nicely and just relax, hanging out with the family. Hailey loves to be in the same room as her people so, will follow to be close if you are moving from room to room. We are learning the fun of toys, not great at the whole fetch thing yet but, is enjoying playing with them. Hailey sometimes seems a little lacking in confidence when meeting new people or experiencing something new (like the fact that the TV reflects off of windows when dark outside - but that does not mean someone is there) but, it getting better each time we meet someone new. When at the Vet's office for her check up, Hailey was only nervous once when new people walked in (delivery person pushing a hand dolly). Everyone else she was happy to gives many tail wags and kisses to.
This little sweet girl is full of love and devotion to give to her new family. Please stay tuned as we learn more about her and have new stories to tell. If you have any questions, feel free to email her foster Mom.
