Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Cookie was tagged out from the Forth Worth City’s Animal Control facility by another rescue group, he was brought to a Veterinary Clinic for his “Vetting” and then went to a foster for two or three months and then returned to the Vet Clinic by the foster. After a couple of months at the clinic, the rescue group that tagged him out of Animal Control called the clinic and told them they would no longer be paying for his care and to turn him over to Animal Control again. Luckily for him, thanks to the generosity of the clinic’s owner, we house our rescues there and we decided to take Cookie into our rescue.
Cookie is about 1-1/2 years old, maybe Rottweiler/Coon Hound mix, weighs around 70-72 pounds and has been neutered. Cookie is a high energy fellow with a high play drive. He is very well socialized, he loves to play and rough house with other high energy well behaved dogs that like to dish it out but can take it to, also he likes little dogs like Chihuahuas and Winnie dogs and the like, with little dogs he is very gentle and careful and lays down for the little ones to play with him. One thing he does not like is aggressive dogs and unneutered males mounting him, however he is OK with neutered dogs mounting him.
He loves to play fetch, throw a ball as far as you can and he will bring it back to you and he will gladly exchange it for another ball, I believe is matter of time for him to yield the ball, just training. He has started clicker training, he sits, he downs, he makes good eye contact, but has poor recall, just a matter of time. He loves to be around people, including children, He is not perfect on the leash but he is getting better, he is crate trained, and in six months he’s never messed up on his crate or on his kennel. Inside a home he is perfect, I kennel my dogs on the weekends and take the rescue dogs home to give them a break, they all enjoy a nice vacation once in a while, they love it.
Additionally, he is very good in public, even crowded malls, he can be walked safely into any store.
