Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello, My name is Bella and I am a 2 year old Border Collie/Lab mix. I weigh about 40lbs and am fully grown. IAR rescued me from Chicago Animal Control when my previous owners gave me up due to a move. No dogs allowed at the new place. I was adopted out to a new family but they did not understand how to play with a high energy dog like a Border Collie. My breed chases and nips at the heels of the animals it is herding. One day during playtime on the floor, I got a little too excited and bit my person. They returned me to IAR and I was placed with a trainer to help me learn how to control my energy and exuberance. I am happy to say that I am now an excellent Frisbee dog. Along with general obedience training (sit, stay, come) I have also learned a few extra tricks; I can back up on command, high five, crawl ,play dead and catch treats I flip off my nose. I have also learned to keep my jumping under control. I wiggle a lot, but my butt stays put. If you are an active family and want a dog that can keep up with you but can also settle in and snuggle in the evening, then please consider adopting me. I am very happy at Mora Sport dog training, but would love a family to give me some one on one attention. I need a day to day routine and structure and someone who understand the training I have been through.
Bella is great with children and gets along well with dogs.
Fill out an adoption application at http://www.illinoisanimalrescueinc.org/adoption-application/view/form.html.
All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, current on their vaccinations, heartworm tested if age appropriate; treated for fleas/ticks and urgently awaiting adoption!
The dogs and cats are so very appreciative of your support. Together we can save these forsaken loving 'innocents' who are condemned to death.
