Conan is a playful and active 6 year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix whose owner surrendered him due to unexpected health problems. Conan wasn't properly socialized around dogs in the past, but he's making up for lost time in his new foster home. He currently lives with 2 other Pit Bull Terriers, and they are teaching him how to play, perform tricks, and chew on antlers.
Conan is a very sweet dog! He loves to meet new people, but is sometimes unsure what to do around very tall men or people wearing sunglasses. His foster mom has been taking him out everywhere with her, and she is happy to report that he does great on-leash during walks, on car rides, and even lounging around on patios in Portland.
Conan has been trained to walk nicely using the Halti system, so his new owner will need to continue to use that system to reinforce his good walking manners. He has not been crate-trained, but is not opposed to going to his crate when commanded. He is a little anxious when his foster mom leaves the house, but settles down nicely for a nap while she is gone. Crate-training will be an easy task for his new owner because Conan loves working for treats and lots of praise.
Conan is looking for a home where he can romp and play with his family. He is excellent with kids of all ages and loves people. He is also great with both male and female dogs. It is unknown whether he will do well in a home with cats.
Adoption Fee: $100
