My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Strider was abandoned on a farm last summer and was taken in by a loving family in order to rescue him from being eaten by wild predators. He is about 3 years old and suspect he might be part Nebelung.

Strider is very healthy, really smart, gentle and loyal. Although he’s not a lap cat he loves people and likes to follow you around from room to room lying near you wherever you go. Strider has a very easy going and low-key temperament and is very adaptable. He does talk when he’s hungry and when you talk to him but he’s not a noisy cat. He can be very comical and strikes hilarious poses when he’s lying by you.

Strider likes to be scratched around the ears and petted with long strokes down his back. He likes to play anytime anywhere with the simplest toy such as a string attached to a stick or a wand with a feather at the end. He likes people to put a stick under a small rug and he pounces on it pulling it back. He also loves his catnip banana. Strider loves to jump in baskets, paper bags or even a small plastic shopping bag. He likes to curl up in a small cat bed, like a cat cup. He also loves his scratching post. He is not a destructive cat and only uses his post to scratch. Strider loves to eat and isn’t a picky eater.

Although Strider likes other cats and wants to have a cat friend he tends to move quickly toward other cats, just to say hello and touch noses. He was abandoned on a farm where his cat playmate used to sneak up and pounce on him so he’s used to playing a little energetically. That being said, Strider would probably do best as the only cat in a household unless his playmate likes to run and chase.

There isn’t much Strider doesn’t like but he doesn’t like to be picked up for a long time. He will drape over your shoulder if you pick him up and rest there for a few minutes and he will stay on your lap for a short time if you pick him up and stroke him. A really nice boy with handsome good looks, Strider needs a loving home. If the finicky Tabby at his foster home would accept him, they would happily keep him, he’s that special. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion who will be a majestic presence, Strider is the boy for you.
