My name is Annie!

Update 08/22/14: Annie continues to get better and better everyday. On the down side her weight is up to 16 lbs but she has been sedated and on a no exercise restriction. On the bright side she is walking much easier without the rod in her leg. She is at the vet's today for a check up and we are praying to have her screws removed and have her released in another week. As you can see, she is getting very relaxed with her car rides and vet visits. Hope to hear from you soon!!!!

Update 07/23/14: As of today, the surgeon has decided not to release Annie at this time. Even though she is getting stronger and the bone is healing, he does not feel comfortable removing her apparatus yet. The surgeon wants to keep Annie under medical observation for at least another month. Will let you know how she is going at that point.

Updated Bio 7/23/2014. Annie is a 6 year old Silky Terrier who weighs about 14.8 pounds. She is being fostered in Gulfport FL. As of today, the surgeon has decided not to release Annie at this time. Even though she is getting stronger and the bone is healing, he does not feel comfortable removing her apparatus yet. Update 07/15/14: Annie's weight is 14.8 and still believed to be about 6 years old. Foster mom said she is progressing like a pro. She has not been allowed any exercise, so her stamina has been very limited, but she is deciding she doesn't want the stroller walks anymore and is going further on her own. She has shown us she loves to play with toys and has beautiful house manners. I do believe Annie was much loved along the way as she is such a loving soul. Annie would appreciate being the only dog in the house as she is an attention hog!!!



Annie will go up to complete strangers with her tail motoring and beg for hugs. She does ride very quietly in her car seat and usually curl up and sleep. She does NOT like to be crated and will let you know!!! She continues to display her house training, she will use her pee pads when necessary. Annie has also shown she can adjust to different situations and will quietly wait at home while you go to work or go along where you go and attract attention and pets from everyone she meets. Annie can do condo living or would do well with a house and yard setting. She would love either a family with children or a single parent at home 24/7, she is very versatile. Please consider adopting Annie and you will be forever happy ;-)

Updated Bio 6/24/14 Annie is approximately a 6 year old Silky Terrier who weighs 14.8 pounds. She is currently being fostered in Gulfport, FL.



A lot has happened with Annie in the past weeks, so as she goes thru her 3rd surgery today, a little about what we know. We are considering her to be approximately 6 years old, weighing14.8 lbs. Once she heals losing at least 2 lbs would be a good idea for her optimum weight.



Week 1, Annie had surgery to put a rod in her broken leg. Week 2, she had her spay, dental and 8 mammary tumors removed. Yes, we said 8, not 1 or 2, but 8. Week 3, the rod in her broken leg is moving out of place and is causing a raging infection, so back into surgery. The good news, the leg is healing and they think they are going to be able to repair it and not amputate.



Annie continues to have the most positive attitude her foster mom has ever seen in spite of all this, human or canine. She loves people both big and small. As she is not of the pocket size, she would love to have a family, but is very happy to sit quietly with her person and pass the day away. She gets all excited when the leash comes out for walk time and is house broken. If she is forced to be inside for long periods of time, she is perfectly fine with using a pee pad.

Initial Bio 5/26/14 - Annie is a 5 - 6yrs. old Silky Terrier that weighs 14lbs. and is currently located in Miami, FL. Our sweet Annie came into UYR with a wound on her leg and head. She is missing her left eye but it appears as though she has been missing that eye for sometime now. Annie will be visiting the vet first thing tomorrow morning to assess the extent of her injuries.



Although it's only been a couple of days FM says that Annie is an absolute gem. She loves to be with her FM and always has a happy tail even though we know that she is in a lot of pain. She appears to be completely house trained as she has not had any accidents. She's so smart! We're hoping that after tomorrow's vet visit we will receive some positive news for our sweet Annie.
