Check of this handsome boy! Gunner was rescued from the Trenton Animal Shelter. He is approximately 3 to 4 month old and we believe he is a pit mix. He is on the smaller side though, so he may be mixed with Chihuahua, Beagle, or Jack Russell. Regardless of his breed - he sure he is cutie!! We estimate that Gunner will be a petite 30-40 pounds when he is full grown.
He is currently living in a wonderful foster home where he is learning how to be the perfect family member! He walks well on a leash, responds to "sit," gets along well with the other dogs in the house, and is coexisting with his feline housemates. Since he is still a baby, he is not completely house or crate trained yet, but he is learning quickly. House training is easier for him than the crate training since he does not like to be separated from the people or the pack.
Gunner loves to run and play with his toys. His permanent teeth are just coming in but he hasn’t chewed up anything that he hasn’t been given to chew (Good boy!). Though, he does love to empty the waste baskets of their contents, so, just like any puppy, he will have to be closely monitored until he learns his manners.
Gunner is a real snuggle bug who expects to sleep on the bed with the people, but will also snuggle with a willing doggie companion when people are moving around rather than sleeping. He is very laid back for a puppy and will just chill where ever the people are. He would do well with another dog his size or as the only pet.
