My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE POSTED MARCH 10TH: Beckey, the foster mom for Slippers had surgery the second week of March. She will not be on the internet much while she recuperates over the next few weeks but we are keeping Slippers bio posted & she will do her best to respond to inquiries as she can. The other puppy, Coltrain, was Slippers brother. Coltrain has already been adopted.

MEET SLIPPERS!

Babyface, you've got the cutest little babyface...Slippers & his brother Coltrain are the cutest little puppies you ever did meet! Their parents are of mixed breeds. Mama looks like a spaniel sized golden retriever & Papa looks like a small german shepard. They shouldn't grow to be too big, our guess is under 35 - 45 lbs. at most.

Slippers has been so named as he has white socks on all four paws! A lover with a sweet dispostion; Slippers loves to be cuddled & even held like a baby. Slippers has a lovely white chest & with his white socks, all he needs is a black tuxedo tie & he is dressed to the nines. 'Shall we go to the ballet? the opera? the all-you-can-eat prime rib dinner at Ponderosa?,' barks Slippers. He can go from casual to fancy in a jiff. His lovely coat of fur is in beautiful shades of tan, white and black. Slippers will roost on your lap if you let him. Like 70's song by The Carpenters, 'he wants to be close to you. La la la la, close to you.'

Slippers & Coltrain are being fostered on a Milford horse farm. This means he is around children, adults, barn cats, of course other dogs AND horses. Slippers' major exposure to so many species bodes well for him & his future family (you?) because a well socialized dog is a good dog. (Followed by the other slogan: A tired dog is a good dog.)

Slippers birthday was around Christmas Day, 2007. He has been socialized around people since birth.

Slippers has such a way with women (& girls too), he can get anything he wants with one casting of 'The Look.' His liquid brown, melt-you eyes makes any mere mortal putty in his pudgey paws. Fortunately the 'anything Slippers wants' usually is attention, affection or a little bit of that there that you're eating (mmm, bologna? 'This is most excellent,' Slippers murmurs.)

If you want puppy love in your life, please contact Beckey via email. She can send you an application.

Please note: The adopter of Slippers will need to be knowledgeable about (or willing to learn) how to housetrain a puppy. Housetraining puppies involves frequent trips outside by puppy AND person (on leash even in a fenced yard) with lots of praise &/or rewards. No puppies go potty indoors for spite. It's all up to the people to teach the puppy kindly & patiently where acceptable potty spots are.

The adoption fee for Slippers and Coltrain will be in the range of $145. All the vet expenses are not yet in. Puppies in fostercare tend to need several rounds of deworming in addition to their neuter surgery and vet check-ups.
