My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ikarus is a sweet boy from Ontario. He was found astray and picked up by animal control. Ikarus is one of those dogs classified as 'SS' or Substantially Similar under Ontario's BSL, Bill 132, also known as 'the pit bull ban'. Ikarus will be the 6th dog we've had to save from Death in Ontario. Luckily these dogs have AFTU on their sides looking out for them. However, they cannot be placed in Ontario and would still be in danger.

Ikarus is a 50lb love bug, about a year or two. He loves to go for walks and does extremely well on leash - hardly ever pulls. He is excellent with other people and other dogs and it seems that he has the patience of a saint. He loves to be brushed, snuggled and even enjoys drives in the car. He knows how to sit, down and shake paw on command, he is also crate trained. He loves to spend time with his people, but gets a little stressed when left alone - however he will settle after a few moments in his crate. When his people are home he will sleep by their feet and will follow so he can be close to them.
He is neutered and UTD on all shots. Ikarus does not like small animals so he cannot go to a home with cats or other small critters.

Ikarus seems to have been through some very rough times by his physical appearance. He has a lot of scarring on his body. These wounds were fresh when he was found and are healing now with some TLC. We would like to thank Emily and AFTU, as well as Ikarus' Onscario foster mom for their realization that Ikky is a special boy and for making such an effort to get him to safety.
