Hi guys. It's Brady-boy do I have an update for you!
Wow it's been a big week! I played LOADS of Frisbee and ball, did lots of hiking last weekend and then bam! Monday I went to the vet and was neutered. All went well and I'm still healthy, gaining weight (26lb now!) and doing well! I continue to eat raw food for my meals- I hope whoever adopts me continues feeding me raw since I enjoy it and eat my meals now (no more going hungry for days on end!).
Now... for the big news... I passed the CGC today! Yes, I, Brady, am a Canine Good Citizen!!! I'm sweet, cute, like to play, work well (and want to) with people, have a great off switch and just chill in the house, I'm ready to play and have fun, but also like to be mellow and just hang out.
I'm humble and sometimes a shy boy so it's a bit awkward giving another brag, but last night when I was in the unfenced yard a cat went darting past and across the street. I started after it and my foster mom said "Brady, what are you doing?!?", I stopped, turned and went trotting back to her without even a second glance or thought about the cat.
Outside of these recent adventures and milestones I've been enjoying the dog beds in my house, run to crate when told 'crate', like petting, going on field trips (can sometimes be a bit shy meeting others, but warm up quickly) and over all just hanging out. I like toys and have found the toy baskets in the house- lots of fun! One of my (doggy) foster sisters has tried to get me to play with her a few times, but I'm not quite sure. I'm fine living with other dogs and am curious about play, but am not quite ready, yet. I like being with my foster people so will be where they are in the house and if they stay in the room i find my spot (often a comfy plush bed) and lie down. I'm fine being around the wee foster human, but sometimes her petting or tripping near me (I still don't get how 14month old humans aren't always stable while walking!) makes me uncomfortable so I move away. I don't mind when she drops food to me or even better- we play fetch together.
Overall life is good. I'm a CGC, I like playing and being outside (as long as my human is with me), I'm curious about agility, obedience or herding- basically working with my person but I'm happy with a movie night too, I like going on walks or hiking, I've found food I'll eat and I especially enjoy a good dog bed and relaxing.
I hope you enjoy my new video and photos of my foster family and me playing along with, me sporting my new CGC ribbon and quality time with the wee foster human.

Brady is such a sweet boy; I liked him from the moment I met him. As he adjusts to our home he becomes even sweeter and such a nice, easy dog to live with. Brady is a petite, sweet boy. He'll be 2 weeks old in June. Despite being skinny he is healthy. Brady is a picky eater so we have tried many, many types of food and finally found some he'll eat! We will continue to experiment and see if we can find more. Brady loves 'human food' and dog treats. He really likes strawberries! His main meals right now are Stella and Chewies Raw dog food and he gets a lot of natural balance 'roll' and Ziwi Peak as treats/snack as we try to get him to gain weight. Mon. May 19 he will be neutered and then his vet work will be complete.
Brady likes to play with toys and will play fetch with a frisbee or ball- if it squeaks even better! He also enjoys chewing bully sticks, bones and other appropriate items. He currently lives with other dogs and is fine with them. He doesn't try to play with them, but happily coexists. He hasn't been by cats, but has been by a rabbit and ignores her, even when she's hopping around the house. Brady is house and crate trained, rides well (crated) in the car, walks well on leash, responds to 'leave itl and comes when called. We're working on down and stay. Brady enjoys hiking and playing fetch along with petting and attention. At home he hangs out in the same room as us and just chills out and naps. Outside he might alarm bark at someone walking by, but otherwise is fine. When he's outside of the fenced yard he hangs around with me. He was a nice buddy while I planted flowers and brought brush to the curb. He (off leash) hung out near me trotting along wherever I went.
Brady has met many different dogs and people. He hasn't had any adverse interactions, but sometimes will be unsure/slightly shy and/or growl/bark when meeting people and other times approach all body wags and smiles. Even when unsure he comes around quickly and then is ready to say hi. Brady has met kids (as young as 1yr) and is fine. If they shriek a lot he'll back away, but he hasn't tried to nip, "herd", growl or anything unsavory toward the kids.
Brady had the opportunity to meet sheep and did well. He was thoughtful and polite to the sheep. Once he realize he could play with the sheep he eager waited his turn. Loose/free range chickens on the other hand might want to stay away from him until he's had a bit more training. He ignored them last week, but this week was interested and came out with a guilty feather in his mouth (no chickens were harmed during Brady's attempt to make friends).
Brady has not done any agility or obedience training. For fun he went over a 12" jump and clearly enjoyed working with me and very quickly picked up on shaping the table (jump up on table and lie down). It was nice to see him light up as he had a chance to think and learn.
