Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Stan is a big gallumpity 40 pound little 'puppy' who is about 18+ months. Stan came to us from Brunswick County Animal Shelter where he was picked up as a stray. He was found by someone and recognized as a Brittany. It became obvious that Stan had never spent a minute inside a house, and had probably been kept in a kennel situation. He is quickly learning his inside manners, crate training and controlling the usual Brittany enthusiasm inside. He gets along well with our three Dachshunds, although he has to be reminded occasionally that the little rescue Doxie is not a play toy. With that said, Stan is learning to be very very gentle with the dogs and people.
He's a typical Brit in that he will stay in one spot for as long as you'll pet him. I used the word gallumpity because I think Stan thinks he's still a puppy and not 40 pounds. Stan has filled out well and his coat is fluffy and beautifully curly. His appearance and weight have improved significantly since arriving in early January (we keep feed out for hungry pups anytime). He did come to us heartworm positive and has gone through treatment with flying colors. The vet said he will be adoptable by the end of February and is considered heartworm free at this point. He will need one more test in mid April to verify the success of the heartworm treatment. He is on Frontline Plus and Heartguard.
He has a wonderful disposition all around and looks forward to finding his new home with other dogs and/or children. If you have children who need wearing out, Stan is the Man. He loves human contact.
Stan did get upset when we took his pictures with the flash and became upset during a recent thunderstorm but settled down rapidly when he was brought in with his foster humans. We aren't sure if this is hunting related or not but hunting should probably not be in his future. This is the only thing we've seen get this boy upset. We look forward to being able to place Stan with a very loving family.
Stan is up to date on all his shots, and will be available to go to his new home once he has been cleared from the vet. So if you are interested in learning more about Stan please fill out an application on our website. www.AmericanBrittanyRescue.Org
Stan has recovered from Heartworm treatment and doing well, and is ready for his forever home....
