My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Woof. I'm KENSI, 11 months old and rescued from a hoarder. Like my TV namesake, I'm plucky and playful, determined to have a shining future. I may be a Shiba Inu (small Japanese Spitz) mix; alert, confident and clean—a great housemate who would love daily long walks with my new family.

I'm so excited to be chosen to go into the New Leash on Life doggie rescue and training program at the Pamlico Correctional Institution in Eastern N.C. I will be trained for eight weeks, and when I graduate I will know basic and advanced obedience commands, have agility and rally training, and even know a few tricks! I am that smart and motivated!

I'm also house and crate trained, will walk well on and off a leash, and am spayed. I have all my shots, too. When I graduate on July 2, I'll be ready to head off for second chance at a new life with my new fur-ever family. Maybe yours!
