Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. We are closed to the public on weekdays. We're an all-volunteer group and need advance notice to schedule appointments, therefore weekday appointments are available to schedule for adoption applicants only.
To adopt, please submit an adoption application (see the link below). Some animals may be in foster homes. For information on a specific animal, please visit our adoption center or email us at humaneswa@yahoo.com!
Beautiful Ellie is an adult female brown/orange Tortoiseshell tabby at 3 years of age. Ellie has quite a story. She was a tornado rescue living with a family as an indoor cat. Their daughter developed severe allergies, so, instead of finding Ellie a new home, they tried to make Ellie an outside kitty. A horrible decision for any reason. Well, Ellie was nervous and hid in their car engine. They didn't know she was there, and when they needed to start their car later, she was still in there and sustained injuries - she was slashed all down her back! Luckily she suffered no internal damage. She received stitches back in February and had them removed a few weeks ago. She has a big shaved patch, but the wound is completely healed now.
Ellie had a rough past few months, but she's a sweet lady! She likes to be petted and likes attention, but she is a bit feisty! She's adjusting to being around so many other cats at our adoption center, but she does socialize well in surroundings with one or a few other cats. But she'd also be perfectly happy as an only pet again. She has no problem letting us know when she doesn't want to be petted, so we wouldn't recommend her with young children. Visit our cat adoption center during open hours or contact us to meet Ellie!
Negative for FIV and FeLK, current on vaccinations and spayed.
Our flat adoption fee is $75, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and are as healthy as possible as soon as they are in our care. Vet records are provided to adopters.
