Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Boots is a 6 month old Mastiff Husky cross. He is growing steady at 55lbs. We expect he is going to be a big boy! Boots loves all people and loves attention from anyone who will give it to him and he gets plenty of it! Everyone loves his gentle fun loving puppy personality and beautiful eyes.
Boots is housetrained and we are working on his crate training when we are out. He is not a fan of his crate but will settle down after making a fuss for the first 5 minutes. Boots sleeps on a doggie bed at night in his foster parent’s bedroom.
Boots has been introduced to everyone he meets, he goes for car rides, to the dog park and doggie daycare to ensure he has proper social skills as an adult noting his breed and size. He has shown no aggression towards anyone or any dogs and has no issues with taking food, treats or toys away from him. He seems particularly drawn to children.
Boots cannot resist the urge to chase the cats in his home, for this reason he is separated from them when he is not being watched. Although we believe he would not hurt them intentionally and only wants to play, his size and exuberance is too much for a cat.
Boots needs stimulation and exercise to keep him from chewing inappropriate things and should be crated when his family is gone until he is out of his puppy stage.
His foster mom works from home most days, he loves to bask in the sun on the deck while she works. He very much loves to be outside.
Boots is very food motivated and smart, he will do well a positive reinforcement obedience class. It’s imperative with his size that he learns manners and boundaries as he can already reach the kitchen table!
His ideal home would be a family that will treat him as one of their own and take him where they go. He doesn’t much care for being alone. He would love another doggie companion or someone to take him to play with other dogs his size and energy level. He loves to wrestle and this is a good way to burn off his excess energy.
Boots is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue. His adoption fee is $375. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and heartworm tested as part of their adoption.
