Here's what the humans have to say about me:
All HSWA dogs are in foster homes and need an appointment to be seen. Please call 205-554-0011 or email humaneswa@yahoo.com to request an appointment to see the dog/puppy and to check availability. Before choosing a pet, we recommend meeting the pet or asking questions first.
This handsome boy is ready for a TRUE forever family!
This good-looking dog is Pauly, a one- to two-year-old male German Shepherd/Australian Shepherd mix. He has a thick, wavy and full black and tan coat. He is much smaller than a German Shepherd, which makes us think there is some Aussie in him. Pauly is just medium in size, weighing only 28 to 30 pounds. He was pulled from our city animal shelter, where he had been dropped off with another dog. Both had been found near UA campus when school was about to let out for the semester (which likely helps put the pieces together on this puzzle). Pauly went unclaimed/unadopted after several weeks, and needed outta there!
Pauly is a very friendly, fun dog, with lots of energy. He is very smart and will need to be kept busy! He would make a great running/walking workout partner! Pauly seems to be good with other dogs and would probably love to have a playmate. He will require a fenced-in yard. He should be fine with children 12 and up (not too young due to Pauly still being a bit jumpy). We have started his crate training. Pauly is up to date with his vet care, will be neutered before adoption, is heartworm negative and is microchipped. He is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. What a super good looking and sweet dog! How could you go wrong?!
Our adoption fee is $75. Read more information on our adoption process. Then, if you feel your home might be the right forever home and you would like to adopt a dog, submit an adoption application or email us at humaneswa@yahoo.com for more info.
