My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update 06/26/14: Hi my name is Sunshine and I am looking for my fur-ever home. I am a Yorkie/Silky mix and full of energy even though I’m about 9 years old. I go “bonkers” for any kind of food especially those special little biscuits I get. FM told me I was getting too fat and she had to cut back on those treats. I know where they are but she keeps them out of my reach. I weigh about 14 pounds and I am solid. I enjoy going for walks on a leash and playing with other yorkies my size. FM calls me Jekyll & Hyde but I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because I can get testy when people push me or try to get me to do things I don’t want to do. Aren’t humans like that too?

I’m Sunshine’s FM and she is precious and playful. She likes her belly rubbed and will talk to you while you do it. She is crate trained and mostly potty trained. She does well during the day but occasionally has an accident at night. She follows me around the house and she can be found where ever I am. She needs a person who knows how to be a “Pack Leader”. Prior to coming to me, Sunshine was the one in control and this led to some behavior issues. We have had a trainer working with us and Sunshine is much better and ready to find her new family. She will do best in a home without young children. Are you her fur-ever family?

Updated Bio 3/12/14: hello, I am Sunshine, an 8 year old 13 pound Yorkie , or maybe a Silkie Terrier. I have been with my Foster Mom for almost three weeks and she loves me. I am housebroken but do not signal that I need to go out but love to go out whenever you take me. FM says I have beautiful teeth and they are all fine. She said I have a luxating patella but it doesn't bother me at all and I walk 1/2 mile every morning. I am a very friendly girl and love people and am curious about every dog I meet. I love FM's 10 year old grand daughter. I love sleeping in bed with FM and her dogs but the dogs won't play with me so I keep right by FM all day

I love to eat my kibble mixed with some wet food and I'm starting to be more patient while she puts it together.

I was named Sunshine because FM knows lots of people need some sunshine in their lives!
Maybe it's you!

UPDATED BIO 2/19/2014: Sunshine is an 8 year old, 11.5 lb (adjusted weight) Yorkie mix or Silky who is being fostered in Jacksonville, FL. She had tumors on her that needed to be removed, and she had her surgery today. As was suspected, the tumors were common fatty tumors. They were completely removed, and she should have no additional issues! She also had a dental, and lucky her, she did not lose a single tooth.

Sunshine will have her sutures out in 14 days, and after that, she is ready to be adopted! Please check back for additional updates as we get to know this little lady.

INITIAL BIO:02/17/2014

MEET SUNSHINE! Sunshine is a pretty 8 year old Yorkie mix or Silky that found herself at a local shelter. She weighs about 13 lbs, but could gain at least 1 or 2 lbs. She gets along great with the other dogs and wants to play with them a bit, and seems okay with the cats.

Unfortunately, Sunshine has some tumors on her chest, putting pressure into her heart, which made her unadoptable to the general public. At this moment, we believe they are fatty tumors, but won't know until the biopsy is sent it. Dr. Michelle Durkee of West Palm Animal Clinic is going to do the surgery, so we know she is in great hands! She will be going in Wednesday for a full blood test and surgery. Please keep her in your thoughts.
