Hi everyone! My name is Paddy and I am a four year old, three-legged Australian Shepherd mix, of small to medium size at about 25 lbs. My foster family says I am a sweet and smart little man with lots to offer to the right family.
You see, when I was younger, I was badly mistreated by my owners and arrived at my rescue with lots of injuries. Although my vet is wonderful, she couldn’t save my left back leg, and amputated it. But don’t worry, I get around very well but I do best on less slippery surfaces. I love to run and be outdoors with my foster family. I am housebroken, and stay close to home where I feel safe so a nice yard would be heaven. I don’t care for other dogs and probably should never live with cats. As a result of the abuse I suffered, I still don’t trust some humans, and very scared of children and teenagers. I warm up to good people very quickly and love being close to people while warm and cozy in my bed. My foster family says that I am probably best suited to an older person or couple who wants an older, only dog to spoil and cuddle. Also I don't do well on slippery floors.
I can say this for sure though… I can’t wait to meet my forever family because I really need some special loving from someone who will be patient with me, someone who will love me and let me love them, from someone who understands that even a three-legged dog is a great addition to the family.
