My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Viking: 3 yrs; Active Companion; Border Collie/American Cattle Dog/Aussie; Black/White Rough Coat; 60 lbs. Striking and outgoing Viking is enjoying a whole new chapter of his life since joining the At Home Houston family . He came from a rural shelter outside of Dallas TX, and we know someone must be missing this great boy-we got very lucky to snap him up! We really do not know much about his past, but what we do know is he is quirky gentleman with impeccable manners. He seems to have had a lot of training inside the house keeping his boundaries even waiting for the human to go through the door first, taking placement to a dog bed, and no counter or table surfing. I am assuming he came from a rural background, more than likely was a ranch hand as he is incredibly comfortable with farm animals even giving horses a kiss. Viking prefers to play ball/Frisbee and his toys inside the home and is quite a fun free spirit when playing outside chasing squirrels and enjoying games of chase either with his humans or a few like minded doggie friends. He takes the pace of his human pack leader while on leash enjoying stimulation and tricks. He will make a nice agility and or pet therapy pup. A great home for Viking would be an interactive rural or suburban environment with a yard that he can play chase games with his humans and or dogs in his home; great biking and walking partner as well as jogging potential; he likes to swim even on leash; dog play is high on his wish list as he plays wonderful with a Maltese to a Great Pyrenees and it's important he find a few like minded canine friends; a human break if a work day is 8-5; preferred children 6 and older; fine with cats, 6 foot fence is a must, not for an off leash lifestyle. Viking is located in Austin but willing to travel for the right Foster to Adopt/Adoptive Home. His adoption donation is $250, there is an application to fill out and home visit where applicable.
