Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Buddy a 90 lbs Golden Retriever… he is on the path to losing weight with his foster mummy and daddy. Buddy loves his walks very much so absolutely needs a family who will enjoy taking him out every day is a must. Buddy also enjoys sitting in the backyard where he can watch the squirrels go by, so a back yard is a must.
Buddy lives with both dogs and cat but prefers a home without either one where he can be the only one to get the attention he so very much needs and deserves. He loves his people and he purrs like a cat when he is absolutely content. We require a home with no small children as Buddy is a big boy and can unintentionally knock a little one over when he gets excited – for a bog doggie he is still quite spry! Also Buddy is still recovering from the neglect of his past life so he still has some aches that concern us if small children were around him on a daily basis. Buddy’s rear end area is very sensitive to him and if touched he will snap. All adoptive family and friends should know this about Buddy. When he was rescued he was severely matted that he could not even relieve himself. All his fur had to be cut off and he was shaved down, it was a very sad, horrible and smelly sight. Whatever he went through was extremely horrible and has taken its toll on this guy. He needs an experience and quite home away from the city, with someone who can invest the time needed to heal him body and soul. He needs a calm and positive environment where his new family can show him the attention he needs to be a good canine citizen.
He is absolutely awful at vet visits; he is terribly terrified and needs to be sedated.
Buddy can be quite vocal when he sees or hears other dogs on the street so no apartment life for him
Buddy attaches to his humans quickly so ideally his forever family will be home bodies who want to spend time and be active with Buddy. He is a fast learner and a lovebug of a guy! He is a well mannered man who can charms the pants off anyone with his teddy bear-like qualities. Buddy is looking to follow his pack leader, he wants to follow and not lead. He has no food aggression and is not motivated by food whatsoever unless you got some mac and cheese & then he will do anything to have some of that!!
