These two senior corgis are in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, CA.
Ollie and Tessa's wonderful guardian passed away at a much too early time in her life. They were like her children.
The dogs are still living in the old family home with a caretaker but the house now needs to be sold. Ollie and Tessa have been extremely well taken care of and the fact they were able to stay in the home they grew up in has been great for them. I don't know how pets react to the fact that one day their guardian is there and the next day forward they never see her again.
Ollie is a nine year old male red Pembroke Welsh Corgi, is neutered and up to date on all shots and his heartguard and flea treatment. He has no known medical issues. He is a very exuberant dog, active and playful, loves to wrestle and chase but does not play ball and is not that interested in toys. He likes to be petted and will try to sneak in your lap whenever possible He has had little socialization outside of his home, but has been taken out and exposed as much as possible and he seems to do well with each situation. He is good on the leash (pulling a little) and a bit timid when other persons, dogs, bikes etc. are coming at him. He is also good off leash and responds to voice commands , though if he is busy on a scent or sees something that intrigues him he can have "selective hearing". He also loves the beach, and is not afraid of the water and will even swim.
Tessa is an eleven year old female red Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and is spayed and up to date on all shots and and her heartguard and flea treatment. Tessa has been diagnosed with "Intervertebral Disk Disease" which she has had multiple surgeries for requiring some lifestyle changes to minimize the possibility of her having another disc problem in the future. She cannot jump on or off furniture, excessively climb up or down stairs or engage in rough play, a harness has to be worn instead of a collar and her weight needs to be managed. She also drinks excessive amounts of water requiring her to urinate often, and are not sure of the reason but have ruled out diabetes or any kind of bladder infection, she would probably be best suited in a home with a doggy door. Tessa is a very happy dog despite her medical conditions, and loves to roll in the grass and lay in the sun, most of the time she is calm with small spurts of energy where she will run or play with her ball.
Both Ollie and Tessa are very food motivated so any treats or food that is given by hand has to be dropped on the floor unless you want to lose your fingers Both seem to do well with other dogs. Both like to be brushed and are very well behaved when nail clipping/grooming etc. and are good around children. They live in Santa Rosa CA
