Rocket is such a handsome boy. He is endlessly fun and loves people and kids and eating. He also loves toys and tends to carry a favorite one around. At the rescue, there is a toy box that he loves to jump in and pick out a toy to play with. He is a very smart dog and has picked up on basic training very quickly with the help of training treats. He knows sit, stay (though working on longer stays), give, fetch and a few other commands. If his new adopter will spend about 15 minutes a day training he would probably be able to learn about any command. He unfortunately has to be an ONLY DOG. There are NO exceptions to this, he does not do well with other dogs and cannot go to the dog park. Ever. He and Finn, the other dachshund we have, were dumped by a breeder, and we can only guess they were never socialized with other dogs. If you are just looking to have one dog, and would be interested in Rocket, please email with questions.
