Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Abby Abby Abby...good at heart, just a little rusty in the manners. But she's getting there! Abby is around a year old and is an English Bulldog/Boxer mix. She was surrendered to us by her very caring owner that felt like she wasn't giving her the time she needed and made the difficult decision to place her in a home that would better compliment her personality. Abby has had a great life, she just needed more guidance and structure. She will not be spayed until April 9th, but will be ready to go after that. She will also be microchipped, and has been vaccinated and is negative for heartworm. She will not be adopted into a home until after she is spayed, but we can set up a visit with you beforehand to see if she is a good match.
Abby needs a home that is familiar with the breeds. They are very fun loving and silly, but can be somewhat stubborn to train. She tries very hard to be a good girl, but sometimes there are just more important things for her to do and she can't possibly come the first time you call her! The good thing about Abby is her previous owner tried really hard to be the right owner. She is well socialized and loves children and adult humans alike. Because of her gregarious personality, she probably shouldn't be with kids under 5 that would be intimidated by a big jovial dog. She will probably chase a kitty for fun, so she needs an owner that is willing to work with her or in a no kitty home but she did test very well with the cat. She is playful and good with other dogs, but can play rough. She will not be placed in a home with a dog under 30 pounds because she tends to not look where she is going and tramples the little ones.
Abby is crate trained, is working on sit and down and not jumping up. She comes (sometimes) to a whistle and is working on not pulling on the leash. She needs a strong owner willing to continue with her training.
Abby's adoption fee is $250 plus a $17.99 microchip registration fee. Please contact us to fill out and adoption application for her.
