Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Rufus!!! Rufus is a 4 1/2 month old Terrier mix who ended up at a local shelter and we could not leave him there. Rufus will be on the smaller side when full grown (Vet seems to think 25 lbs) and we are not sure of his mix but he looks a bit like a Scottie so we went with that. Rufus loves other dogs so we are hoping that his forever home will have one, as his favorite thing to do is play!!! Rufus is housetrained as well as crate trained, knows some basic commands and has quite the personality. We love him here at the rescue and we are sure you will too!!!!
A little more about our organization. Please read as most questions will be answered here.
Thank you for choosing to adopt a new member of your family. Our goal is to find the best fit for all because adopting a dog is a life long commitment. To this end, we carefully screen all applicants, conduct home visits and meet & greets to ensure that all members of the family get along harmoniously.
All dogs are micro chipped, spayed/neutered and up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines prior to placement.
Here's the lowdown:
1. Start by completing the online adoption application below.
2. Once the adoption application is approved, a volunteer will call or email to schedule a meet and greet and home visit. All members of the household should be present for both.
3. If approved to adopt, pay the adoption fee prior to or on day of permanent placement and agree to sign the Adoption Contract.
Adoption Fees:
Adults $200
Puppies $250
These fees help to recover some of the costs for vetting, food and supplies, and go right back into the pool to save additional dogs in need.
A few things to keep in mind prior to completing our application:
*We prefer applicants who are at least 21 years or older and will take special precautions in approving those in the range of 21 - 25 years. This is a period of time where many are in a state of flux. We only wish our dogs stable, permanent homes, so please understand our hesitation and respect our decision because it is all for the good of the dogs.
*Landlord and/or condo association consent (if applicable)
*Be prepared to show identification showing current address
*Be committed to having the dog for the duration of its life (10 - 15 years)
*Believe in and practice positive reinforcement training and non-aversive training methods (shock, choke, prong collars and invisible/electric fences are NOT WELCOME here)
When ready, please fill out our online application here:
