My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kato is a bouncy, wiggly BIG puppy (he’ll be two in May) who is eager to please and absolutely lovey. He adores the children in our house, who are 13, 13 and 17 (he previously lived with a 3 year old), and really does everything he can for “lovins.”

He takes a few minutes to warm up to new people, going as far as barking at them in fear. However, within minutes, he is putting his big, beautiful head in your lap looking up at you with the most beautiful, expressive liquid brown eyes and asking you to love him.

He really wants to be right in the middle of commotion, but quick actions and loud noises make him startle. He has not shown any indication of aggression, but he does have a few fears he has to work through. He also values bones quite a bit, so if you have another dog, bones should be kennel treats only, or fed in separate rooms.

Training and a stable environment would do wonders for him and his self esteem. He needs a strong leader who knows basic pack structure and is willing to keep him in his place. He’s just more comfortable and less fearful when his role in a family is properly defined. If that defines you, then he is your perfect dog.

He is super quick to learn, really eager to make you happy, and just a snuggly dog for your family. With very little effort, this dog could go a long way in obedience, agility, or Canine Good Citizen training.
