Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This sweet little girl who goes by “Betsy” is a 2 year old spayed female sable and white sheltie who weighs 16 pounds. Many of you may be familiar with Betsy’s story that we featured on our Facebook page and the homepage of our website. She came to MHCSR in October 2013 from a confiscation in Tennessee where she, along with many other shelties, were being kept in less than ideal conditions. Shortly after arriving in Colorado we discovered she was pregnant and in late November four beautiful puppies were born that we have since featured on our available sheltie page.
Before coming to MHCSR, Betsy had little socialization with humans. She had never been in a house, had her own bed, toys or knew a loving and gentle human touch. Over the last few months Betsy has been doing very well in her foster home. She is housetrained, enjoys the company of other dogs, plays with toys but prefers to hoard them in her own bed when she is done playing with them. She craves human companionship and once she accepts you the bond will be reinforced.
We prefer that the people in her forever home have experience working with fearful dogs, and who will be patient and understanding with her. Having another well-established dog in the house to help Betsy understand will also be beneficial. It would be best children be over the age of 10 so as to not frighten her.
Betsy has been through so much in her 2 years. Her life did not start out the way it should, but now with your help she will get the life that all dogs deserve.
Working with a dog like Betsy will be one of the most challenging, sometimes frustrating and ultimately rewarding experience you will ever have. If you would like to add Betsy to your family, please go to our website at www.mhcsr.org to fill out an application.
