Bernadette is a beautiful American Bulldog with the most awesome mesmerizing blue eyes. She was a stray girl and her owners never came to look for her, so she is now looking for a good forever home. Bernie is housebroken, up to date on all her shots, and is spayed. Before coming to her foster home, she was heartworm positive, but she has completed her treatment and is now heartworm negative. Bernie is crate trained, and will generally sleep there at night. She will occasionally grab things that don't belong to her, but is easily distracted with a toy or a treat. Bernie is quite a clown, she keeps us laughing. She loves to roll in the grass in the back yard, on her back. When she is doing this, she is very vocal. She likes to get her hind end scratched, and loves to take up a lot of space on the couch. Bernie needs a family who will be committed to working with her; she needs to learn how to walk consistently on a leash. Her foster family is working with her, and has started her walking on a harness, which seems to be helping. She is an alpha female and she should be an only dog. Bernie is also on a grain-free diet, as she has some food allergies. She will make someone a great companion and friend. For her own safety, and because she was a stray, she needs to be adopted by someone with a fenced yard.
The photos of Bernadette do not do her justice. She really is a stunning dog! Bernadette has a mostly white coat with some patches of brown on her ears and near the base of her tail. She also has those beautiful blue eyes.
